I have had a very exciting year so far and have several exciting things coming up! I’m particularly looking forward to playing Berlioz’s Harold in Italy in May with the

Eugene Symphony.

I’m also excited about some other projects that are on the horizon. I’ve been working with pianist Michael Seregow on Fauré’s Sonata for Violin and Piano, Op. 13 for his “all Fauré” recital. The TARDIS ensemble (I like to call us the Tardisans) is in the planning stages for our May concert ).  I’m hoping that we’ll play my sister’s Blue Bottle Trio for violin, bassoon, and piano, one of her brand new pieces. My talented sister, Shandy Phillips,  actually wrote the piece for herself to perform with her colleagues at Mississippi State University. But she’s generous enough to share it with me. I feel lucky!

I had the great pleasure of performing Vivaldi’s “Spring” from the Four Seasons in Oregon Mozart Players’ Candlelight Baroque concert earlier this season. OMP’s new music director Kelly Kuo is bringing a new spin to our Eugene-based chamber orchestra, and I’m excited to be a part of this phase. I also just played my final concert of the season with Chamber Music Amici – a wildly fun concert (

Chamber Music Amici and TARDIS are both in the planning stages for next year, so I’ll need to update that information once it’s official. The Eugene Symphony just released its 2013-14 season brochure and we’re waiting to hear about OMP… all very exciting!
